Photographic Images Submitted to the Club.

When submitting photographs to the club for inclusion in our website you must own or hold the copyright for the image. Also please try and format your picture to the following specifications: -

For displaying in the members gallery

Some computer monitors and tablet PC’s (in landscape mode) have an aspect ratio of 4:3 so an image of 8” by 6” has that same ratio in landscape mode. This will ensure that someone looking at your pictures will see all of the image. The display screen will usually adjust the image to fit the width. (This does not always work for widescreen T.V.s and monitors as they have a ratio of 16:9.)

However, you can submit images of just about any size you wish as the website will sort them out for whatever screen size the viewer is using.

The website will happily use low quality pictures so please keep the file size under 500k please. Also please use a simple naming convention such as AlbertH.jpg, Tree6.jpg or a location or subject for example: derby001.jpg or steam001.jpg.

Website general photographs.

I aim to only use members’ pictures on the website and will periodically change them so every member will get to opportunity to see their images on the club’s website. An ample supply of images would be very helpful.

Various sizes would be useful; however, square ones are especially useful, but images of any size (both portrait and landscape) are very welcome. Low resolution files of no more that 250k in size would be good please.

Competition Photographs

Please submit competition images to the club as a best quality image and no less than 2,000 pixels in width and an aspect ratio of 4:3 as this is the size we need to fill the projection screen. (see competition rules page)
