Competition Rules
Entry to the monthly competition by any club member is optional.
Members may submit a maximum of 2 entries, unless otherwise instructed at the previous meeting that the topic demands otherwise.
Competition entries are to be uploaded to the club. To do this go to the members area and follow the instructions there. Or you can e-mail your images to the club’s Leadership.
The deadline for entries is midnight on the last Friday before the meeting on the following Wednesday unless otherwise stated.
Photographic entries must be at least 2000 pixels wide. This is to enable high quality projection during meetings. Please do not allow your email software to reduce the size of your submissions.
Please include technical details, such as Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO Speed, Lens and Focal Length for example 1/250, f/8, ISO 400, 18-200mm, 50mm. Also please include a Title for your entries. (This can be included in the Metadata of the image file.)
Photographic entries must be the work of the photographer submitting the pictures.
The use of A.I. generated images is strictly prohibited.
The photographer submitting the photographic entries must hold the copyright for the images and any photographs including people as the main subject (Portraits for example) the photographer must hold a model release authorisation.
Photographs submitted as competition entries MUST have been taken on or after the 1st of the same month of the preceding year, e.g. January 2026 entries on or after 1st January 2025, February entries, 1st February and so on.
The Ravenshead and District Photographic Club will retain the right to publish on its website or other media any images (photographic or similar) submitted by members on a royalty free basis. Members have the right to withdraw any images from the club, and these images will be removed in a reasonable time frame.
Voting: all members may vote whether present at a meeting or not. Entries will be displayed on the website by the morning of the next meeting, and votes may be sent to in by email. Members who have not attended for more than three meetings may not use this method.
You may not vote for your own submission/s.
Executive members of the Club (including both Committee and Honorary members) are not permitted to enter the main monthly competition, as they must remain impartial. They may, however, participate in the Executive monthly competition, which is judged by the membership in the same manner as the main competition. All Executive members are required to follow the same rules that apply to the main competition.
